Vice President, Membership, 2007-08

Greetings! I am excited to be your Vice President of Membership!

First, if you are not a member, why become a member of a Toastmaster club?

There are several reasons.

1. To become a better speaker!! With a warm atmosphere, members practice speaking skills by delivering prepared speeches to fellow Toastmasters. The speaker is then given verbal and written encouragement and constructive criticism.
2. To speak well unprepared! At a Toastmaster meeting, time is dedicated for a predetermined person to ask questions based on the weekly theme of the meeting. Then, members are randomly selected to answer these questions (about one minute per answer) without preparation!
3. To enhance leadership skills! By organizing and conducting meetings Toastmasters develop leadership skills.
4. Last, WE HAVE FUN!

Second, as Vice President of Membership of our club, Ambassadors Toastmasters at North Coast Church, I have some exciting plans for my position and our club.

• Current members. I want to make sure existing members of our Toastmaster’s club are enjoying their Toastmaster experience. I will be distributing a questionnaire to get feedback.
• Welcoming guests. I would like to grow our club by caring for guests by greeting each one and giving information when appropriate.
• Build membership. To help our club grow and thrive I will conduct two membership drives this year.
